Constructing with laser technology

Afgen distributes the Leica Rugby range of rotating laser levels and the Piper range of pipe laying lasers. The rotating laser systems include models for horizontal level, horizontal and vertical level and single and dual grade level control and are used extensively in civil construction, building, pipe laying and agricultural environments. The Rugby 310SG and 420DG laser systems are single and dual grade systems. Applications in civil works include construction of warehouse floors, parking lots, airport aprons, ramps, sports fields, golf courses and gravity flow pipelines. The lasers are used in conjunction with Leica sensing systems to control the blade elevation on dozers, graders and scrapers and for depth control on excavators. The sensing systems are connected through the machine’s hydraulic system and allow the operator to have full automatic or manual control of the blade or bucket at the touch of a switch. Skilled and semi-skilled operators easily learn to use the system within hours and benefits include greater accuracy, fewer passes, increased productivity and lower operating costs. The sensing systems are all easily upgradeable for either Total Station or GPS control.
